Evidence for an Interaction Between Age at First Drink and Genetic Influences on DSM-IV Alcohol Dependence Symptoms

There’s new research which gives further weight to the CMO’s case for trying to pursuade young people to have an alcohol free childhood.
Published in Alcoholism: Clinical and Experimental Research, the paper looks at the risks of early onset of drinking and later risks of dependency.
The abstract describes the results this way:
Risk for alcohol dependence symptoms increased with decreasing age
