There’s only one way to stop British boozers | Times Online

Ross Clark argues that the approach that the government should be trying in order to change behaviour is through public health campaigns:

Education rather than prohibition remains by far the best way of dissuading citizens from harmful behaviour. That said, it is hard to see why alcohol has been singled out for favoured treatment by new Labour’s nannies. There are plenty of forms of deregulation that would have been welcome in Britain over the past decade but, in a country with such a rampant drink problem, allowing the pubs to open all day perhaps should not have been the priority.
