Sir Liam Donaldson talks about Alcohol Harm

The Alcohol Learning Centre have video podcast with Sir Liam Donaldson talking about alcohol harm.

He says that liver disease is now the 5th most common cause of deaths in Enland, claiming something like 5,000 people a year (double what it was a decade ago and continuing to rise each year).  He says he is concerned about the growing number of young adults with liver cirrhosis which he says is “likely to be associated with heavier drinking in the teenage years.”

He also points out the number of hospital admissions for under 16 year olds had risen by about a third over the same period.
