A man from Oxfordshire who was addicted to crack cocaine by the age of 21 has been speaking to schoolchildren about the dangers of taking drugs.Alex Ling, 24, of Henley-on-Thames, was a drugs user from the age of 13, but has been clean for three years.
He also spoke to teachers and parents:
He told the parents and teachers at the school that even if you cannot
stop children taking drugs, you should at least equip them with the
right information.“Youngsters can go to a party and see people smoking marijuana and
they’re not instantly turning schizophrenic, which is unfortunately
what many of the older generation put across to them [teenagers]
straight away,” he said.
