Classification makes the news in a number of papers, they all are agreed that the government are going to reclassify cannabis, and that the ACMD don’t share that assessment:
- The Mirror – Gordon Brown in cannabis row snub
- The Guardian – Call for science to rule on risk of illegal drugs
- The Daily Telegraph – Gordon Brown to make cannabis class B drug
- The Independent – Drugs agency warns Government over reclassification of cannabis
- The Daily Mail – Prime ditherer: Gordon Brown criticised for delay over cannabis law
Elsewhere the Daily Mail go with Cannabis ‘is making teenagers impotent’, say doctors.

There’s noting new about cannabis use and sexual dysfunction, including erectile problems and premature ejaculation. The ACMD are,or should have been aware of this when they recommended downgrading it. If truth be told when one considers all the evidence of the total harms caused by cannabis use, and which was available at the time the ACMD made their recommendation, one can only conclude that they either didn’t bother to check it, or chose to supress it. At best their recommendation appears to have more to do with ideology than hard facts.
